UTMB COMMUNITY FORUMS

UTMB Community Forums have evolved from Town Meetings—they are being scheduled every 30-45 days and are meant to offer information and foster communication in a format/venue that paves the way for an administrative transition. President Stobo offers a brief update on university news at the start of the meeting, and upcoming meetings will focus on the research enterprise, the academic mission, and university support functions.

Recap: UTMB Community Forum and Clinical Enterprise Update

In this period of transition, a new meeting format has been created to augment and possibly replace Town Meetings. UTMB Community Forums are being scheduled at approximately monthly intervals and will be topic/area specific, featuring a panel of speakers. Future meetings will focus on the research enterprise, academics, support areas and the status of the UTMB Comprehensive Campaign.

On Wednesday, Jan. 31, panelists Drs. Garland Anderson, Karen Sexton, Larry Stanberry and John Stobo shared information and updates about ongoing and planned projects related to UTMB's clinical enterprise. For those who were unable to attend, a streaming webcast of the meeting is available (requires RealPlayer). For additional information, please call (409) 772-2618 or send a message to public.affairs@utmb.edu.

The next Community Forum is planned in March.
